The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force was the new title given to the Imperial Iranian Air Force in the early 1980s. As of January 2013, the IRIAF had 30 Su-24MKs in service. 24 of these are Iraqi examples that were evacuated to Iran during the 1991 Gulf War. Iran possibly purchased other Su-24s from Russia or other former Soviet States.
