Boeing 767-375ER, serial number 25120, operated by Air Canada as C-GLCA. The aircraft was originally delivered to Canadian Airlines in April 1991 and transferred to Air Canada in March 2001 following Air Canada's acquisition of Canadian. C-GLCA subsequently became part of Air Canada's large 767 long-haul fleet, operating international and transcontinental services. It was withdrawn from use in June 2020 and stored at Marana, Arizona, before returning to Canada in 2024 for storage at Hamilton. The veteran aircraft was finally broken up there in June 2026, ending a career spanning approximately 35 years.
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to fill the niche between the narrow-bodied 707 and wide-bodied 747, the 767 was first flown on September 26th, 1981. Developed in tandem with the narrow-bodied 757 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 767 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes.
