2005 has been a year of change of TAP Portugal (formerly TAP Air Portugal before Feb 2005). In addition to them joining the Star Alliance and having their 60th anniversary, they have also introduced an entirely new image. This model showcases their latest colors. TAP Portugal (Transportes Aéreos Portugueses) is the national airline of Portugal and based in Lisbon. It operates to destinations in Europe, Africa and North, Central and South America. In 2005 TAP became the sixteenth member of the Star Alliance. The company rebranded from TAP Air Portugal to TAP Portugal in February 2005. It employs 5750 staff. TAP Portugal currently operates 6 Airbus A310's.

The Airbus A310 is a short to medium range widebody airliner. Perhaps the greatest attribute of the A310 is that of range. The A310-300's range exceeds all A300 models and the -200 exceeds all A300 models in range except the A300-600. This quality has led to the aircraft being used extensively on transatlantic routes.
