Operation Frühlingserwachen (Spring Awakening) was the final major German offensive of WWII. On March 6, 1945 Germany launched attacks near Lake Balaton in Hungary in a desperate attempt to recapture Budapest and defend the Third Reich's final oil reserves. Despite impressive initial gains, it was an overly ambitious plan that soon ground to a halt. When the Soviets counterattacked on 16 March, they forced German forces back to their original start-line within 24 hours. Dragon Armor's latest 1/35 scale fully assembled model depicts a Panther Ausf.G Late Production variant from an unidentified unit that took part in the Lake Balaton Offensive.

The astounding craftsmanship of this model is exemplified in the three-color paint finish, which consists of a unique combination of spots and stripes. This Panther is the perfect feline companion for Dragon Armor's Tiger, Kingtiger, Elefant and 60cm Mörser, and it's bound to have collectors purring with contentment!
Designed to replace to the PzKpfw IV, which had met its match in the new Soviet T-34, the Panzerkampfwagen V "Panther" series of heavy tanks were armed with powerful weapons and equally powerful armor protection. Thought by many to be the best German tank of WWII, the Panther featured a sloped armored turret with a long barrel 75mm main gun and an anti-aircraft 7.92mm machine gun. It was equipped with anti-magnetic paste to combat magnetic mines, and armor skirts offered further protection for the track system and crew. Dragon's 1:35 scale Panther "G" tanks live up to the extremely high standards set by Dragon's previous 1:35 scale releases. These models are constructed almost entirely of diecast plastic, which allows for the finest possible detail. Each model has a rotating turret with elevating cannon, a moveable forward machine gun, road wheel suspension, hull maintenance access covers, pivoting barrel support and opening commander's hatch. Individually applied battlefield equipment and tools are correctly stowed on the hull. The series includes early variants as well as late production models with altered engine deck layout, raised fan cover, new exhaust arrangement and a new mantlet design.
