Airbus A340-642, construction number 662, was delivered to Lufthansa as D-AIHF in 2006 as part of the airline's long haul fleet expansion. The aircraft operated intercontinental routes from Frankfurt and Munich to destinations in North America, Asia, and the Middle East. D-AIHF featured Lufthansa's premium long haul cabin with first class, business class, premium economy, and economy seating, along with advanced inflight entertainment systems. Powered by four Rolls Royce Trent 500 engines, the A340-600 offered excellent range and smooth performance on long distance flights. D-AIHF served as an important flagship aircraft within Lufthansa's widebody fleet for many years.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport, the A340 was first flown on October 25th, 1991. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
