De Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter, construction number 428, was operated by Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines as N142SA in support of sightseeing operations over the Grand Canyon. The aircraft was configured for high visibility flights, featuring large windows and a spacious cabin optimized for aerial tourism. N142SA operated short scenic routes from bases such as Grand Canyon Airport, providing passengers with panoramic views of the canyon, Colorado River, and surrounding landscapes. The Twin Otter's strong short takeoff and landing performance and high reliability made it ideal for frequent operations in hot and high conditions. N142SA became a familiar sight over the Grand Canyon, supporting the airline's reputation for safe and memorable aerial tours.
