The aircraft is one of four C-32As assigned to the 1st Airlift Squadron of the 89th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. Based on the Boeing 757-200, it is configured as a secure executive transport for the Vice President of the United States, First Lady, Cabinet members, and other senior government officials. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW2040 engines, 99-0003 is equipped with advanced communications, self-defense systems, and a VIP interior to support worldwide diplomatic and government missions.

Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".

Boeing C-32A

Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. A total of 1050 aircraft were built before production ceased in 2004, however many airframes have since been retrofitted with drag-reducing blended winglets to help improve fuel economy.
