Boeing 737-8 MAX, construction number 43374, was delivered to Alaska Airlines as N803AK in 2018 as part of the airline's fleet modernization program. The aircraft operates short and medium haul routes across the U.S., connecting key hubs such as Seattle, Portland, and Anchorage, as well as popular leisure destinations. N803AK features Alaska Airlines' modern cabin with first class, premium class, and main cabin seating, along with updated inflight entertainment and connectivity. Powered by CFM LEAP-1B engines, the 737 MAX 8 offers improved fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and lower operating costs. N803AK plays a key role in Alaska Airlines' strategy of operating a young, efficient, and reliable narrowbody fleet. The Boeing 737 MAX is an American narrow-body aircraft series being developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes as the fourth generation of the Boeing 737, succeeding the Boeing 737 Next Generation. The first flight was on January 29, 2016. The 737 MAX is based on earlier 737 designs but re-engined with more efficient CFM International LEAP-1B along with aerodynamic improvements, most notably split-tip winglets, and airframe modifications.
