Embraer E195-E2, construction number 21000113, was delivered to Mexicana as XA-MXA as part of the airline's fleet modernization program. The aircraft operated medium haul routes within Mexico and to regional destinations in Central and South America, providing improved efficiency and passenger comfort compared with older narrowbody jets. XA-MXA featured a single class cabin optimized for high utilization, along with modern inflight systems. Powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1900G engines, the E195-E2 offered reduced fuel burn, lower emissions, and quieter operation. XA-MXA became a key component of Mexicana's strategy to maintain competitive regional service while modernizing its narrowbody fleet, though operations ceased following the airline's restructuring.
