Boeing 737 AEW1 Wedgetail, serial number 30533, was delivered to the Royal Air Force UK as WT001 in 2021 as part of the RAF's Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) program. The aircraft is based on the Boeing 737-700 platform and is equipped with the advanced Northrop Grumman Multi-role Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) radar. WT001 provides airborne surveillance, command, and control for the UK's airspace and deployed operations. It features mission systems for tracking airborne and maritime targets, coordinating air assets, and enhancing situational awareness. WT001 strengthens the RAF's capabilities for modern multi-domain operations and international coalition missions.
