Aero Spacelines Super Guppy Turbine Diecast Model
NASA, N941NA

1:200 Scale   Length   Width
Aero Spacelines Super Guppy Turbine   8.75"   9.25"

One of four built aircraft, named after the appearance of a pregnant fish, is operated by NASA for the transport of high-volume goods such as rocket segments.

Aero Spacelines Super Guppy Turbine

Designed as a turboprop-powered enhancement of the Pregnant Guppy wide-bodied cargo aircraft, the Super Guppy Turbine (SGT) was first flown on August 31st, 1965. While a single Super Guppy (SG) was built from a C-97 Turbo Stratocruiser, four examples of the Super Guppy Turbines were built using all-new fuselages constructed from the ground up. The redesigned fuselages enabled the Super Guppy Turbine to have a wider cargo compartment floor (13 ft vs. 9 ft) and greater cargo compartment dimensions of 111 ft in length and an internal diameter of 25 ft. Higher performance Allison turboprops also distinguished the SGT from the SG.
