In July 2025, the German Air Force's Tactical Air Wing 74 (TaktLwG 74) unveiled a striking Eurofighter Typhoon adorned with the "Castle Tiger" livery at Neuburg Air Base. This special paint scheme, featuring bold yellow and black tiger stripes, honors the unit's heritage and its participation in NATO Tiger Meets. The aircraft, serial number 30+74, was showcased during a "Spotter Hour" event, attracting aviation enthusiasts and media attention. The unveiling coincided with a family day and a mini Tiger Airmeet, emphasizing the squadron's commitment to both operational excellence and community engagement. Designed as part of a co-operative effort by Germany, Italy and the UK to produce an air superiority fighter, the Eurofighter was first flown on March 27th, 1994. The Eurofighter is a single-seat, twin-engine, agile combat aircraft used in air-to-air, air-to-ground and tactical reconnaissance roles. It is intentionally aerodynamically unstable, which gives it its high levels of agility-but this means the Typhoon is controlled by a computerized "fly by wire" system instead of by its pilot.
