Dassault Rafale DI was registered as T-0301 with the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU), the first Rafale built for Indonesia and a two-seat F4-standard aircraft assigned to Skadron Udara 12 'Black Panthers', 6th Air Wing. First pictured on the Merignac assembly line in August 2025 wearing two-tone grey camouflage, it made its maiden flight on 19 September 2025 and was formally accepted at Dassault's Merignac facility on 28 November 2025. Flown by Indonesian crews, T-0301, T-0302 and T-0303 landed at Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base, Pekanbaru, on 23 January 2026, beginning pilot conversion and operations under the 42-aircraft Rafale order Indonesia announced in February 2022. Designed as a result of the ACX (Avion de Combat Experimentale) program prior to France's withdrawl from the EFA project, the Rafale was first flown on July 4th, 1986. The Rafale is multi-role fighter for the Franch Air Force and Navy, capable of handling missions from reconnaissance to air supremacy to nuclear deterrence. The Rafale built on Dassault's expertise with delta-winged fighter design, adding a forward canard to improve maneuverability and reduce approach speeds for carrier operations. The Rafale's advanced avionics and and limited stealth capabilities are expected to secure it as the primary combat aircraft for the French Air Force and Navy until at least 2040. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
