Boeing 747-338, serial number 23544, entered service with Qantas Airways as VH-EBU. The aircraft joined Qantas' long haul fleet in the mid 1980s as part of the airline's expansion of international services. Operating routes from Australia to destinations across Asia, Europe, and North America, the 747-300 provided increased passenger capacity with its extended upper deck design. Configured with first class, business class, and economy seating, the aircraft offered comfortable long distance travel for international passengers. Powered by Rolls Royce RB211 engines, VH-EBU supported Qantas' global network for many years before the airline gradually replaced earlier 747 variants with newer models.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
