Boeing 727-227, construction number 21103, was delivered to Braniff International as N8857E in 1975 during the airline's colorful branding era. The aircraft primarily operated domestic and Latin American routes from Braniff's Dallas and Houston hubs, helping the airline expand its network throughout the 1970s. N8857E flew in Braniff's iconic livery, reflecting the bold visual identity the airline became known for. After Braniff ceased operations in 1982, the aircraft was sold to other operators and continued service for several years. Eventually withdrawn from service and parted out, N8857E remains part of Braniff's memorable 727 fleet history.
Designed as a smaller, short/medium-ranged complement to the 707, the 727 was first flown on February 9th, 1963. © Copyright 2003-2025 The Flying Mule, Inc.
