Boeing 747-127, construction number 20238, was delivered to Braniff International as N610BN in 1971 as the airline entered the widebody era. Wearing Braniff's bold solid color scheme, the aircraft operated long-haul services including the Dallas to Honolulu route and later participated in the interchange agreement with Pan Am on the Dallas to London sector. High fuel costs and shifting market conditions limited Braniff's 747 operations, and the type left the fleet well before the company's 1982 collapse. After retirement from Braniff, N610BN was sold to new owners, eventually withdrawn from service and parted out, marking the end of Braniff's first 747.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2025 The Flying Mule, Inc.
