Airbus A340-642, serial number 697, entered service with China Eastern Airlines as B-6055. The aircraft joined the airline's long haul fleet in the mid 2000s and operated intercontinental routes from Shanghai to destinations across Europe, North America, and Australia. Configured with first class, business class, and economy seating, it provided comfortable long distance travel with modern passenger amenities. Powered by four Rolls Royce Trent 500 engines, the A340-600 offered excellent range and smooth performance for long haul operations. B-6055 played an important role in China Eastern Airlines' international expansion before the airline gradually replaced four engine aircraft with more efficient twin engine widebodies.
