McDonnell Douglas MD-11, serial number 48469, line number 519, operated by China Airlines as B-151. Delivered on November 13, 1992, the aircraft joined China Airlines' new MD-11 long-haul fleet and operated international services to destinations in Europe, Asia and North America. B-151 was leased to subsidiary Mandarin Airlines from 1995 through 1999 and later re-registered B-18172 while retaining Mandarin colors. After leaving Taiwan, it was stored in the United States in 2002 and subsequently converted into an MD-11 freighter. FedEx acquired the aircraft as N577FE in 2004, beginning a second career in worldwide express-freight service that continued until 2014.
