Airbus A320-251N, serial number 10372, operated by Etihad Airways as A6-EJB. Built in 2021, the aircraft was originally delivered to Bamboo Airways as VN-A226 before joining Etihad in December 2024. Powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines, it is Etihad's only A320neo and has become especially recognizable in a special Chennai Super Kings livery celebrating the airline's partnership with the Indian cricket team. A6-EJB remains active from Abu Dhabi, operating regional services to destinations including Chennai, Riyadh and Zanzibar. Its secondhand acquisition gave Etihad a unique new-generation member within its otherwise predominantly A320ceo narrowbody fleet.
Designed as a short/medium range narrow-body airliner to compete with the Boeing 737, the Airbus A320 was first flown on February 22nd, 1987. The A320 features side stick controllers and glass cockpit and was the world's first airliner to use use a digital fly-by-wire control system. Controversially, the software includes "flight envelope protection" to prevent the pilot from exceeding safe flight parameters. The highly successful design rapidly led to the development of the shortened-fuselage A318 and A319, and lengthened-fuselage A321 derivatives. More than 4,500 of the A320 family have been produced, almost all of which are still in active service. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
