Boeing 747-4J6, serial number 25883, operated by Air China as B-2456. Delivered new in 1994, the aircraft joined Air China's 747-400 fleet as the type became the carrier's flagship for major intercontinental services from Beijing. Powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4056 engines, B-2456 operated prestigious long-haul routes linking China with North America, Europe and other international destinations. The aircraft also became associated with Chinese government and VIP transportation duties, a role frequently performed by selected Air China 747s. As newer Boeing 777-300ERs and 747-8 Intercontinentals entered the fleet, Air China's original 747-400s were progressively withdrawn, ending an important era in the airline's long-haul history.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
