Boeing 767-330ER, serial number 27170, entered service with Condor Airlines as D-ABUM. The aircraft joined Condor's long haul fleet in the late 1990s and operated leisure routes from Germany to destinations in North America, the Caribbean, and Asia. Configured with business class and economy seating, the 767-300ER provided efficient widebody service for charter and scheduled vacation travel. Powered by General Electric CF6 engines, the aircraft offered reliable long range performance and strong fuel efficiency. D-ABUM supported Condor's holiday travel network for many years before the airline gradually introduced newer widebody aircraft.
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to fill the niche between the narrow-bodied 707 and wide-bodied 747, the 767 was first flown on September 26th, 1981. Developed in tandem with the narrow-bodied 757 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 767 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. With more than 1000 aircraft produced, the 767 is the second most prolific wide-bodied airliner after the 747. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
