Airbus A330-200 Diecast Model
ITA Airways, EI-EJN

Airbus A330-200   5.75"   6"

Airbus A330-200, registered EI-EJN, flies for ITA Airways wearing the name "Il Tintoretto," honoring the celebrated 16th-century Venetian Renaissance painter, continuing a longstanding Alitalia tradition of naming aircraft after significant figures in Italian art, culture, and history that ITA Airways carried forward following its 2021 establishment as Alitalia's successor. As part of ITA's fleet of A330-200s supporting long-haul international routes from Rome, the aircraft connects Italy to destinations across North America and beyond. This naming convention reflects ITA's efforts to preserve elements of Italian aviation heritage and cultural identity within its rebuilt fleet.

Airbus A330-200

Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency.
