Airbus A330-941, registered F-WTTN, serial number 1795, is Airbus's primary A330neo flight test aircraft, having conducted the type's first flight on October 19, 2017, ahead of the aircraft's entry into commercial service. Wearing Airbus house test colors, F-WTTN has participated in numerous certification and demonstration campaigns over the years, including a notable 2024 Hot and High performance test deployment to Bolivia and Mexico to evaluate the aircraft's operation from high-altitude airports under extreme temperature conditions. As part of Airbus's core flight test fleet, the aircraft continues supporting ongoing development and certification work for the A330neo family.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
