Airbus A330-941, registered F-WTTE, flies as one of Airbus's A330neo flight test and demonstration aircraft, wearing the manufacturer's house test colors as part of the development program supporting the A330-900's introduction and ongoing certification activities. Alongside sister test aircraft F-WTTN, F-WTTE has supported Airbus's efforts to validate the A330neo's performance, systems, and operational capabilities across various environments and route profiles. As part of Airbus's broader flight test fleet based primarily in Toulouse, France, the aircraft plays a continuing role in demonstrating the A330neo to airline customers and regulatory authorities.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers.
