Boeing 777-212ER, registered CS-TSX, flies for Euro Atlantic Airways, the Portuguese wet-lease and charter specialist, wearing a special "30th Anniversary" livery marking three decades of the airline's operations. Euro Atlantic formally acquired CS-TSX and sister aircraft CS-TSW in 2024 to develop its long-haul charter capabilities, having introduced both aircraft to the fleet in 2022. As part of Euro Atlantic's growing widebody fleet, the 777-200ER supports the carrier's charter and wet-lease business providing long-haul capacity for other airlines and tour operators across Europe and beyond, expanding the company's role in the flexible charter aviation market.
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to compete with the Airbus A330/A340 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the 777 was first flown on June 12th, 1994. A pair of the world's largest diameter turbofan engines power the aircraft which currently holds the record for world's largest twin-engined airliner. The 777 was Boeing's first fly-by-wire airliner, featuring complete glass cockpit displays and flight envelope protection.
