Boeing 777-367ER, operated by Cathay Pacific as B-KQO. Delivered new in July 2014, the aircraft was ferried directly from Boeing's Everett factory to Hong Kong on July 10-11. Originally configured with 40 business, 32 premium economy and 268 economy seats, B-KQO was reconfigured in March 2020 to accommodate 296 economy passengers. The aircraft was stored at Hong Kong from July to November 2020 before being transferred to long-term storage at Alice Springs, Australia, where it remained until November 2023. B-KQO returned to revenue service in January 2024 and remains active in 2026 on Cathay's regional and long-haul international network.
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to compete with the Airbus A330/A340 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the 777 was first flown on June 12th, 1994. A pair of the world's largest diameter turbofan engines power the aircraft which currently holds the record for world's largest twin-engined airliner. The 777 was Boeing's first fly-by-wire airliner, featuring complete glass cockpit displays and flight envelope protection. Standard varients have a range of 4,200 nautical miles while Extended Range (ER) variants can fly for 6,600 nautical miles and the Longer Range (LR) variant is the world's longest range airliner capable of flying 7,800 nautical miles. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
