Boeing 747-4B5M, registered HL7421, flew for Asiana Airlines as part of the South Korean carrier's fleet of combi 747-400s, configured to carry both passengers and cargo on the same aircraft. Asiana's relationship with the Boeing 747 began in 1991 with the -400 variant, and the carrier never operated earlier 747 generations. Asiana retired its last passenger 747-400 in 2023, ending over three decades of 747 passenger operations for the airline, though the carrier continues operating dedicated 747-400 freighters, including aircraft acquired from Taiwan's China Airlines, within its separate cargo division.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
