Tupolev Tu-204-100C, registered RA-64024, flies cargo services for DHL Express, operated on the express carrier's behalf by Russian airline Aviastar-TU. As part of a small fleet of Tu-204 freighters supporting DHL's European and Asian logistics network, the aircraft represented an unusual pairing of a major Western integrator with Soviet-designed airframe technology. Aviastar-TU built much of its cargo business around contracts with major express carriers including DHL and TNT during the 2000s and 2010s, leveraging the Tu-204's competitive payload capacity to serve routes between Moscow and European hubs including Brussels on a scheduled basis.
