Tupolev Tu-204-100B, registered P-633, flies for Air Koryo, North Korea's state-owned flag carrier and the country's only commercial airline. Air Koryo was banned from operating in European Union airspace between 2006 and 2020 over serious safety concerns tied to its aging Soviet-era fleet, but was permitted to resume EU service after acquiring newer Tu-204 aircraft including P-633, which met updated safety standards. As part of Air Koryo's small international fleet, the aircraft supports the carrier's limited scheduled routes connecting Pyongyang to destinations including Beijing, Shenyang, and Vladivostok, reflecting North Korea's constrained but persistent civil aviation links abroad.
