Tupolev Tu-214, registered RA-64504, flies for Rossiya Airlines, the Russian state carrier that operates a fleet of Tu-214s supporting government and VIP transport as well as scheduled domestic passenger service. Rossiya, based in St. Petersburg and later absorbed into the Aeroflot Group's special flight operations, has used the Tu-214 as a key domestically produced widebody-adjacent aircraft, particularly valuable amid Western sanctions restricting Russia's access to Boeing and Airbus aircraft and parts. As part of this fleet, RA-64504 supports Russia's continued reliance on the Tu-214 platform for both civil and state transport functions.
