Tupolev Tu-134A, registered YU-AHK, flew for Aviogenex, the Yugoslav charter airline that operated a fleet of Tu-134s and later Boeing 727s supporting leisure and charter routes connecting Yugoslavia to European destinations during the Cold War era. Aviogenex served as Yugoslavia's dedicated charter carrier, complementing flag carrier JAT Yugoslav Airlines' scheduled services, and built much of its business around bringing Western European tourists to the Adriatic coast. As part of Aviogenex's Soviet-designed fleet, YU-AHK supported the airline's charter operations during a period when Yugoslavia maintained an unusual position between Eastern and Western aviation markets.
Designed as twin-engined, narrow-body airliner, the T-134 was first flown on September 9th, 1970. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
