United Airlines, N76055

Boeing 767-400ER   6"   5"

Boeing 767-424ER, registered N76055, flies for United Airlines as part of the carrier's fleet of 767-400ERs, the largest and longest variant of the 767 family, supporting long-haul international routes from United's hub airports. United operates the only substantial 767-400ER fleet among major U.S. carriers, having inherited the type through its 2010 merger with Continental Airlines, which originally launched the variant. As part of this unique fleet, N76055 supports United's long-haul network connecting the United States to destinations across Europe and other international markets, complementing the carrier's broader 767 and 777 widebody operations.

Boeing 767-400ER

Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to fill the niche between the narrow-bodied 707 and wide-bodied 747, the 767 was first flown on September 26th, 1981. Developed in tandem with the narrow-bodied 757 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 767 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. With more than 1000 aircraft produced, the 767 is the second most prolific wide-bodied airliner after the 747.
