Boeing 767-381F, registered VH-EFR, flew for Qantas Freight as the last operating Boeing 767 in the Qantas Group's fleet, retiring on May 17, 2024, after flying its final revenue service from Hong Kong to Sydney. Originally built for All Nippon Airways as a cargo aircraft, VH-EFR joined Qantas in 2011 and was operated on the airline's behalf by subsidiary Express Freighters Australia. Its retirement, after nearly 40 years of Qantas 767 operations carrying an estimated 168 million passengers across 927,000 flights over the type's history, marked the end of an era as Qantas transitioned its freight fleet to Airbus A321 and A330 converted freighters.

Boeing 767-300F

Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to fill the niche between the narrow-bodied 707 and wide-bodied 747, the 767 was first flown on September 26th, 1981. Developed in tandem with the narrow-bodied 757 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 767 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. With more than 1000 aircraft produced, the 767 is the second most prolific wide-bodied airliner after the 747.
