Airbus A380-841, registered D-AIMO, flies for Lufthansa as part of the German flag carrier's fleet of A380-800s, the world's largest passenger airliner, supporting high-capacity long-haul routes from Frankfurt and Munich. Lufthansa follows a tradition of naming its A380s after German cities, and the aircraft supports the carrier's flagship long-haul network connecting Germany to major international destinations. Lufthansa has announced plans to retire its A380 fleet, along with its Airbus A340s and Boeing 747-400s, by 2028 as part of the airline's broader fleet modernization strategy centered on next-generation twin-engine widebodies.
