Boeing 777-3DZ(ER), registered A7-BEL, flies for Qatar Airways as part of the Gulf carrier's substantial fleet of 777-300ERs supporting long-haul international routes from Doha's Hamad International Airport. Qatar Airways operates one of the world's largest and most diverse 777 fleets, using the 300ER variant for high-capacity long-haul routes across its extensive global network spanning Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Africa. As part of this fleet, A7-BEL supports Qatar Airways' position as one of the leading long-haul carriers connecting the Middle East to destinations across virtually every populated continent.
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to compete with the Airbus A330/A340 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the 777 was first flown on June 12th, 1994. A pair of the world's largest diameter turbofan engines power the aircraft which currently holds the record for world's largest twin-engined airliner. The 777 was Boeing's first fly-by-wire airliner, featuring complete glass cockpit displays and flight envelope protection.
