Boeing 737-8 MAX, registered HL8567, flies for Korean Air as part of the South Korean flag carrier's growing fleet of MAX 8 aircraft supporting domestic Korean routes and short-haul regional international connections. Korean Air has incorporated the 737 MAX into its narrowbody fleet to improve fuel efficiency on routes connecting Seoul to destinations across Northeast Asia. As part of this modern narrowbody fleet, HL8567 supports Korean Air's continued growth as one of Asia's leading carriers, complementing the airline's substantial widebody long-haul operations with efficient short and medium-haul capacity. The Boeing 737 MAX is an American narrow-body aircraft series being developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes as the fourth generation of the Boeing 737, succeeding the Boeing 737 Next Generation. The first flight was on January 29, 2016. The 737 MAX is based on earlier 737 designs but re-engined with more efficient CFM International LEAP-1B along with aerodynamic improvements, most notably split-tip winglets, and airframe modifications.
