Boeing 747-2J6B, serial number 21564, entered service with CAAC as B-2440. The aircraft became part of China's early widebody fleet during the expansion of international air services in the 1980s. Operated by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, it flew long haul routes linking Beijing with destinations across Asia and Europe. Configured with multiple passenger classes, the 747-200 provided high capacity passenger transport during a period of rapid growth in international travel. Powered by Pratt and Whitney JT9D engines, B-2440 represented an important milestone in the development of China's modern airline industry.
