Boeing 767-3Q8(ER), registered S7-FCS, flew for Air Seychelles as part of the island nation's flag carrier fleet supporting long-haul international routes connecting the Seychelles to Europe and other distant markets. Air Seychelles relied on the 767-300ER as its primary long-haul widebody for years, given the type's suitable range and capacity for the carrier's relatively low-density but long-distance route network from its base at Seychelles International Airport. As part of this historic fleet, S7-FCS supported Air Seychelles' role connecting the remote Indian Ocean archipelago to international tourism markets, a vital economic lifeline for the island nation.
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to fill the niche between the narrow-bodied 707 and wide-bodied 747, the 767 was first flown on September 26th, 1981.
