Airbus A340-311, registered 4R-ADC, flew for Air Lanka (now SriLankan Airlines) as part of the Sri Lankan flag carrier's fleet of A340-300s supporting long-haul international routes connecting Colombo to Europe, Asia, and Australia. Air Lanka was among the earlier Asian operators of the A340, using the type's exceptional range to serve long-haul markets from its island nation base without requiring intermediate stops. As part of this historic fleet, 4R-ADC supported Air Lanka's long-haul international network before the carrier's 1998 rebrand to SriLankan Airlines following a strategic partnership with Emirates.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport, the A340 was first flown on October 25th, 1991. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
