Airbus A330-243, registered B-6090, flies for Air China Cargo as part of the flag carrier's cargo division fleet of A330-200s supporting international freight operations connecting China to major logistics markets worldwide. Air China Cargo has diversified its freighter fleet beyond dedicated 747 and 777 freighters to include converted A330-200s, providing flexible medium-widebody cargo capacity for routes with lower volume requirements. As part of this fleet, B-6090 supports Air China Cargo's role in China's growing e-commerce and international trade logistics sector, connecting Chinese manufacturing and export hubs to global markets.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers.
