Airbus A340-313, registered OE-LAK, flew for Austrian Airlines as part of the carrier's fleet of A340-300s supporting long-haul international routes connecting Vienna to destinations across Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Austrian Airlines relied on the A340-300 as its primary long-haul widebody for years before the type's eventual retirement in favor of more fuel-efficient twin-engine aircraft as part of the airline's fleet modernization following its integration into the Lufthansa Group. As part of this historic fleet, OE-LAK supported Austrian's role as Austria's flag carrier connecting the country to long-haul international markets beyond Europe.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport, the A340 was first flown on October 25th, 1991. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
