Airbus A340-313, registered 9Y-TJN, flew for BWIA West Indies Airways as part of the Trinidad and Tobago flag carrier's fleet of A340-300s supporting long-haul international routes connecting the Caribbean to Europe and North America. BWIA operated as the region's primary long-haul international carrier for decades before the airline's 2006 restructuring into Caribbean Airlines. As part of this historic fleet, 9Y-TJN supported BWIA's role connecting Trinidad and other Caribbean destinations to London and other distant international markets, reflecting the type's suitability for the long, thin routes characteristic of Caribbean long-haul aviation.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport, the A340 was first flown on October 25th, 1991. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
