Ilyushin Il-96-300, registered RA-96007, was the last operational Il-96-300 in Aeroflot's fleet, named 'A. Mayorov' after a former head of the airline's 235th Air Detachment, having first flown on November 24, 1992. The aircraft flew Aeroflot's last scheduled Il-96 passenger service on February 2, 2014, before being stored, then later returned to airworthiness and sold to Cuban carrier Cubana de Aviacion in 2015. As part of Aeroflot's pioneering post-Soviet widebody fleet, RA-96007 represented the final chapter of Russia's flag carrier operating its domestically produced long-haul quadjet before the type's role shifted primarily to Russian government transport.
