Boeing 777-F28, registered F-GUOB, flies for Air France Cargo as part of the French flag carrier's fleet of 777 freighters supporting international cargo operations connecting France to major logistics markets worldwide. Air France Cargo has built its freighter fleet around the 777F to complement the belly-hold cargo capacity carried on the airline's passenger widebody fleet, providing dedicated cargo capacity from its Paris Charles de Gaulle hub. As part of this fleet, F-GUOB supports Air France Cargo's role in European and global logistics, particularly for time-sensitive and high-value cargo shipments.
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to compete with the Airbus A330/A340 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the 777 was first flown on June 12th, 1994. A pair of the world's largest diameter turbofan engines power the aircraft which currently holds the record for world's largest twin-engined airliner. The 777 was Boeing's first fly-by-wire airliner, featuring complete glass cockpit displays and flight envelope protection.
