Boeing 747-238B, registered VH-ECC, flew for Qantas as part of the Australian flag carrier's fleet of 747-200s supporting long-haul international routes during the 1970s and 1980s, an earlier generation of Qantas's decades-long relationship with the Boeing 747. Qantas operated the 747-200 as its primary long-haul widebody before transitioning to the 747-300 and later 747-400, using the type to connect Australia to distant international markets across the Pacific, Asia, Europe, and North America. As part of this historic fleet, VH-ECC represented an important chapter in Qantas's pioneering long-haul jumbo jet operations.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
