Boeing 737-86N, registered JA73NY, flies for Skymark Airlines wearing a special livery promoting Japan's B.League professional basketball association, part of the Tokyo-based low-cost carrier's practice of applying sports and entertainment-themed liveries across its fleet. As part of Skymark's substantial 737-800 fleet supporting domestic Japanese routes, the aircraft connects Tokyo Haneda to regional cities across the country. Skymark rebuilt its operations as an independent low-cost carrier following a 2015 bankruptcy restructuring, and its use of colorful promotional liveries like the B.League scheme reflects the airline's branding strategy within Japan's competitive domestic aviation market. Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967.
