Boeing 737-8Z6, registered HS-TYS, flies for the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) as part of the military's fleet of 737-800s used for VIP and government transport, supporting travel for senior Thai officials and military leadership. Operating from Don Mueang Air Base near Bangkok, the RTAF's 737 fleet provides Thailand with dedicated long-range executive transport capability distinct from the country's tactical and strategic military airlift fleet. As part of Thailand's government VIP transport fleet, HS-TYS supports official state travel requirements for Thai government and military officials both domestically and internationally. Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967. Over its long operational carreer, the 737 has spawned numerous variants ranging in capacity from less than 100 to more than 200 seats.
