Airbus A330-343, serial number 1338, entered service with Thai Airways International as HS-TBD. The aircraft joined the airline's regional widebody fleet in the 2010s and operates routes from Bangkok to destinations throughout Asia and Australia. Configured with Royal Silk business class and economy seating, it provides passengers with a comfortable cabin and modern inflight entertainment systems. Powered by Rolls Royce Trent 700 engines, the A330-300 offers reliable performance, efficient fuel consumption, and excellent range for regional operations. HS-TBD continues to serve as an important part of Thai Airways' widebody fleet supporting its regional network.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
