Boeing 737-8CX, registered OK-TVD, flies for Travel Service (operating as Smartwings), the Czech charter and low-cost carrier, as part of the airline's fleet of 737-800s supporting leisure charter routes connecting the Czech Republic to Mediterranean and other European holiday destinations. Travel Service has built the Smartwings brand into one of Central Europe's larger leisure and scheduled carriers, operating a substantial 737 fleet. As part of this fleet, OK-TVD supports Travel Service's role providing charter capacity for Czech and Central European tour operators and holidaymakers. Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967. Over its long operational carreer, the 737 has spawned numerous variants ranging in capacity from less than 100 to more than 200 seats.
