The ARTEC Boxer A1 is an early upgraded standard of the Boxer 8x8 armored vehicle, introduced to improve protection, reliability, and electronics over the initial production models. The A1 upgrade focused on enhanced mine and IED protection, improved suspension components, upgraded cooling and power systems, and refinements to onboard electronics. It retained the Boxer modular concept, allowing different mission modules such as infantry carrier, command post, ambulance, and specialist variants to be fitted to the same drive module. The A1 standard was primarily used by early operators such as Germany and the Netherlands and later formed the basis for further upgrades like A2 and A3.
